my hoomans finally moved their lazy bum bums to get some spring cleaning done before the Chinese Lunar New Year, which is just round the corner.

while they were clearing out the cabinet, my Jiejie found a pack of brand new booties she bought in Bangkok 1 year ago. as i posted earlier, i had been scratching myself silly, n getting sore bald patches on my body. Jiejie tot it would be a brilliant idea for me to wear the booties, so dat i can't scratch n hurt myself again. here are the pink booties...

ha! n here's how i felt about them! tho i must admit the pink is a pwetty contrast to my fur colour...

hello all doggins & hammies!!! how is everybody?

i've been m.i.a for over a mth! geez!!! one would think i went into hibernation or something... it was a busy period for Jiejie, n she was away for vacation, n DID NOT bring me along!
a few doggins n hamsterberian had dropped by my c-box to say hi. juz wanna say a BIG thank you to my dear DWB frens for not forgetting me, it's a heartwarming start to a brand new year!

n even more heart-warming is the "Operation Bring Beau Home". most doggins n hammies had already joined the Operation by orders of S.C. Stormy of Ao4. i hope i'm not too late in doing my part. Pls help to spread the word n bring Beau home!

erm... Jiejie is still figuring out the helmet part. she isnt veri smart with the compooter...

i would oso like thank all my frens who had sent me Christmas cards, be it via snail mail or e-cards. my hoomans were amazed by the cards i received from different parts of the world. n they received 0 card! HA!

n this was how i celebrated the new year... in a lampshade!
i wanted to show Jiejie how unhappy i was dat she went on a vacation w/o me, dat i scratched myself silly, n ended up with a sore bald patch on my left shoulder. she immediately brought me to the vet, n got me some cream to apply. the vet oso scraped my skin for a test, n found dat my evil mites condition had relapsed. *sigh* back to my daily meds...

BAH! i am so not looking into the camera! dun u think i've outgrown the lampshade???

juz when Jiejie tot the bald patch had healed, i got myself another. on the right shoulder this time... at least, i escaped the lampshade treatment.

Jiejie brought me to the Dog Run last Saturday morning. contrary to the purpose of the place, i didnt do much running. i was juz hanging out, cozying up with both doggins n hoomans.

A Gift From Japan!

Some of u had asked about the weather here in Singapaw, when i posted on how to cool down when it gets hot. i guess most of u whom live across the ocean r starting to experience the winter... but here in Singapaw, the weather is kinda freaky. we've been getting rain more often, but temperatures dun go below 23C° (or 75F°). but when it doesn't rain, it can be really hot. n it can be bright & sunny a minute, n raining the next. we dun experience winter in Singapaw, as with most Southeast Asian countries, it's summer all year, with June & July being the hottest months!

last sat, i sent Jiejie to the post office to pick-up the parcel sent by my Japanese friend, ume-tyan!

i got Jiejie to open the parcel for me, as it was wrapped securely with masking tape. Jiejie had to wrestle with the parcel a little... finally she got it opened. look what's in there!

there was a paw-written card by ume-tyan.

look at what's inside the Trick or Treat Box! it's a Jack O' Lantern. i think i can smell something in there... hmmm... will it be a trick or treat?

n i wanna announce a bit of a good news here! i was at the vet's for a skin review last nite. n the result from the skin scrape showed dat there's no more bad bad mites on me! WOOHOO!!! but my skin is still very dry, n we now need to work on removing the dandruff.

here's me looking happee on the vet's table! (EC: but not when the vet was there... she kept wanting to climb into my arms.) it oso shows how bad a photographer my Jiejie is! (EC: u fidget too much!)

i've been puking bits of my dindin n yellow bile recently... the vet said it may be gastric. i havent been eating much of my dindin lately, so it explains y i looked skinny in the pic below. Jiejie suspects i'm going on a teenage hunger strike, n i do think i deserve better food! Addiction wet food mashed with veggies n steamed fish every meal... not exactly exciting. I Need More Variety In My Life!!! will somedog or hamsterrier pls knock some sense into my lazy hooman?

hiya all doggins & hamsterriers!!! i noe i havent been blogging much lately... cos' Jiejie had been pwetty busy. we had tried to catch-up on everydog & hammie's blog as much as we can.

Snoopy's prezzie arrived last week! she sent me a pinkie dognut n 2 pinkie bows! i allowed Jiejie to put on the bow for me, so dat we could have pix to show Snoopy. i'm sori the pix r kinda dark, cos the flash was blinding me, so Jiejie switched off the flash.

YAY YAY YAY!!! I finally got to open my prezzies on my barkday! oh my! it sure was the funnest time i had, digging out toys n treats from pkgs n boxes. jellyfish Jiejie tried to steal some of my stuffies. n now it's time to thank my sweetest frens who mailed me prezzies, making my 1st barkday extra extra special! (Be warned! Photos-intensive post!)

i shall begin with the 1st pkg i received! n it's from Huskee Boy! he had received sooo many barkday prezzies dat the postman had gotten curious about him.

Huskee got me a Zanies stretchable stuffie with pink dognuts! i remembered dat Luckie has, i meant, had the same toy. she had opawrated on the stuffie n removed the dognuts! keke...

I turned ONE on Sep 1st!!! i'm a BIG girl now!

Jiejie put on a new dress for me n she said it's my barkday dress! it has prints of many many strawberries! 1 barkday pic to kick-off the big day, n i was ready to set-off for my pawty!

Jiejie forgot to take a pic of the place, so here's a pic extracted from their website. Pawtobello Cafe is the same place where some of our DWB Singapaw frens met up for the National Day Pawty.

actually, my pawty was more of a gathering of family & close frens of Jiejie. i got to meet my Papa & Mummy (aka Jiejie's parents), Small Jiejie (Jiejie's younger sister) and Ting Ting Jiejie (Jiejie's childhood fren).

while the hoomans were busy checking out the food menu, i was busy making frens. there were at least 4 Schnauzers in the cafe, i wondered if there's a Schnauzer gathering... but apparently not.

initially, the Schnauzer in the pic below was rather hostile, cos i kept wanting to snuggle up to her hooman. i couldn't help it, i'm a friendly doggin! but my perseverance paid off, n i managed to rouse her into a mean game of bitey-face!

Once the hoomans were done with their food, it was cake-cutting time! it's a banana sponge cake with lotsa icing, made specially for us doggins.

there would be an annual parade, known as the National Day Parade, to celebrate our nation's birthday. this year's parade was different from previous years, cos this was the 1st attempt to hold the parade by the Marina Bay, rite on the waters! a floating platform was built over the water, which is capable of holding thousand-strong military contingents n performers. apart from the performances on the stage, there were oso displays by our Navy by the waterfront.

as there were very limited tickets to the parade which were given out by public balloting, those who did not manage to get tickets could go to the areas in the proximity of the Marina Bay to catch the parade live. n my Jiejie & Gorgor were one of those! silly hoomans!

the parade started at 6pm, but my silly hoomans reached the Merlion Park (opp. the stage) at 2pm juz to "chope" good seats to watch the parade. if u think that's crazy, there were oredi a lot of other hoomans there "choping" seats! the hoomans would bring along their mats, picnic baskets, umbrellas, fans n anything dat would help to make their few hours wait more comfy.

this is our iconic Merlion.

the crowd was packing the place at 2+ in the afternoon. by 5pm, the place was packed to the brim. every inch imaginable, it would be occupied by a hooman butt. even the bridge overlooking the Bay was packed fully.

little Singapore flags n caps were given out as freebies at the Merlion Park. many were amused with the creativity of this hooman.

i'm sori u won't get to c pix of the parade nor the fireworks. Jiejie was too lazy to move her butt as the hours wore on... n she was busy waving her flag whenever she could...

National Dog Walk 2007

i had lotsa fun at the National Dog Walk!!! there were so many doggies! it's overwhelming! all sizes & breeds! it was fun fun fun!

the walkie began...

i met this boy silky terrier... his name is Lucky. let's juz say it was tangle at 1st sight! keke... we hit it off so well dat it took our hoomans a good 5-10 mins to untangle our leashes. thereafter, we had to walk apart to stay tangle-free. he's cute huh?

i kept walking on the grass instead of the foot path. guess i dun conform...

then i started rolling n rubbing on the grass, which i dun usu do. my hoomans din manage to catch me in action tho... my Jiejie picked me up n checked my under-belly. there were lotsa twigs stuck to my body, which was causing the itch. thank doG it wasnt ants!

time to squench my thirst...

yeah! i made it!!! i had to spoil the shot, of cos!

*ahem* it's not like what u think... i erm... ah... tot i saw a bug, i had to make sure! yup, dats it!

while the crowd was wow-ed by the frisbee performances by 2 border collies, i was chomping away on my din din. Jiejie bot me lamb meatballs n meatloaf from US Doggie Bakery. u can c the meatloaf below, but the meatballs were oredi in my tum tum. keke...

there were packs of kibbles, cookies, wet dog food, n a pets magazine.

Jiejie made me posed with the loot. she said the $10 registration fee was worth every cent! the freebies would be enough to last me for a while...

HaPPee 11 Months Old To ME!!!

I turned 11 mths old today!!! the countdown begins...
today is oso Ume-san's burpday! she is a sweet sweet lady hooman, oways sharing with us the bootiful sceneries in her hometown, walkies with ume-tyan, pwetty flowers n of cos, yummy yummy food! she oways caused me (n Jiejie) to drool over the keyboard. keke... n she never fails to comment in my blog!
so i wanna thank Ume-san n ume-tyan for being our frens... n again, we wish u a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY n may happiness n good health be with u oways!

everytime i turned a mth older, Jiejie will give me a present. this mth, she had registered me for the National Dog Walk 2007! it's taking place this sunday, on aug 5th. it's my 1st time participating in a mass dog walkie! i'm so excited!!! i'll get to meet lotsa other doggies!!! TQ TQ Jiejie!!! i'm so looking forward to sunday!
Jiejie said there will be a carnival, with lotsa doggie stuff to shop for, n US Doggie Bakery will oso be having a booth! mmmm... more yummy cookies! the walkie will end with a screening of "The Shaggy Dog" starring Tim Allen, rite in the park! it juz sounds all too exciting! i'm not sure i can sleep tonite... is it sunday yet?

Jiejie read this book when she was still a kid. the story of the most famous collie, Lassie. Jiejie said it made her cry... especially when Lassie reunited with her boy at long last. *sob*

hiya every doggie & GG! it's been almost a week since i last blogged. guess who has been slacking?

time to get down to business... Tag # 3 came from handsome Pippa with the most amazing eyes. i'm supposed to list 5 items dat i would like to put into a time capsule, so dat future doggies/hamsterriers can learn more about me or doggies of our time. from what i read, the time capsule seems to have unlimited capacity, Pippa put in a Landy!!!

here r my choices:

1) as some of u may remember, these are ume fruits! technically, i'm named after a fruit, a plum to be exact. think of me when u eat one... but then again, can we doggies eat plums?

n Jiejie wanted to introduce this to your hoomans, esp your hooman Moms. it's one of her favouritest drinks, n it's made from ME, erm... i meant ume fruits. Choya, a Japanese brand of plum wine, is a popular drink in Asia. there's even royal jelly in this particular flavour, which has many beneficial properties. Jiejie likes to mix it with green tea, she said it's a lady's drink. Jiejie, i'm a lady, can i have some?

2) who is this pathetic-looking creature, u may wonder? the 2nd item is a pic of yours truly... shaved down after i was diagnosed with fungal infection. there were like 238, 389 red bumps on my body. altho the red bumps r gone, my skin is still dry n scaly. the bulk of my young life was spent healing my skin problems, n it's probably gonna take some time.

3) this is a fundamental (woah! i'm using a big word!) tool in my potty training! i adopted Jiejie when i was 5 mths old, so potty training started late. from crate, to papers, to my pee mat now, let's juz say it wasn't a joy ride, for my Jiejie, at least. Jiejie read from a local dog forum dat instead of using disinfectant to get rid of the scent of my pee/poop, vinegar is effective with no harmful chemicals (as we doggies have the tendencies to lick the floor), n definitely the cheaper alternative.

4) My Cuz - i luv my Cuz, i can Cuz all day & nite! n i noe lotsa doggies out there r crazy over Cuz toys. Jiejie, if i put in my Cuz, does dat mean i get a new Cuz? (EC: er... ???)

5) Last but not least, i wanna let doggies/hamsterriers of the future noe dat there's a veri cool group of bloggers from all parts of the world sharing their everyday lives n having lotsa fun. u noe who they are... n it's this same cool group dat inspired Jiejie to start a blog for me. so i thank u all for your friendship, n bringing us all the fun, laughter n warmth!

i had been reading about Precious, Boo & Huskee feasting on lew lians, n it sounded oh so yummy! i juz had to get my paws on some! i pleaded relentlessly, n my efforts paid off! Jiejie bot a few boxes of back, i could smell them from miles away! can u smell them thru your screens???

what can i say? lew lians r finger lickin' good!!!
but Jiejie said i can't have too much, in case i "lao sai". but Jiejie, u had the whole box to yourself! won't u whats dat? "lao sai" too? (EC: erm... it's ok for me to "lao sai", but if u "lao sai" then it will be very troublesome.) *roll eyes* whatever!!! excuses excuses excuses!!!

btw, Cody the Mr Fussy Pot Pants, tagged me to share an embarrassing encounter.
erm... i can't think of anything dats reali embarrassing, except back in June after my vet review, my Jiejie took me to a nearby pet shop to stock up on my food. the shop owner was reali friendly n played with me while Jiejie shopped. n me, being the ultra-friendly dog, was totally overwhelmed with the attention. n the inevitable happened... i pee-ed out of sheer excitement! not once, not twice, but thrice!!! well, i'm a VERY hapPEE dog! actuali, i think Jiejie was more embarrassed than i was, she ran out of paper towels by the second leak! keke...

ok, i was kidding! Jiejie actuali applied olive oil (the one used in the kitchen) all over my body. we went back to the vet on Tue evening for a review, n the nice lady vet advised Jiejie dat olive oil is gd for my dry flaky skin, which was caused by the infection n nasty mites mites.
oh! i've gd news too! the vet did another skin scrape for me, n found dat some of the nasty mite mites r dead, n my yeast infection had visibly reduced! this is improvement for me, which means i'm reacting well to the medication.
but i lost a little weight, i'm now 3.6kg as compared to the last taking of 3.9kg. but Jiejie was happy to hear the gd news about my skin. i'm happy to learn abt the weight loss, it means she will need to fatten me up, no? do i hear ice-cream???

hmmm... think i'll take this opportunity to blog about my name. as most of u may oredi noe, another DWB fren has the same name too! n dats ume-tyan!

as for how my name came abt? of cos my Jiejie din noe enough Japanese to name me Ume, not to mention what it meant. silly hooman!

i was bot from a family staying in Hume Park in Singapore back in Feb this year. while over dinner, Jiejie was cracking her blains, blainstorming on what to name me. she tot of words relevant to the date i adopted her, n oso Hume Park. then she tot of Yumi, oso a Japanese name. dats when a bulb lighted up in Gorgor's head! he suggested Ume instead of Yumi, both sound the same, but Ume was derived from the word Hume. n if u break it down, it oso means u and me! so Jiejie tot it's veri meaningful. n there! i've a name!

thanks for all your kind advice & concern! jail term didn't last more than 1 day... Jiejie went away over the weekend, n she felt guilty for leaving me at home, so no more scawie looks from her... but i noe she's still thinking abt the obedience classes. *sigh*

after Jiejie was back from her weekend trip, we had to catch-up on what everybody else was up to; n it's all Memes!! so here's mine...

I'm In Trouble...

Jiejie gave me killer looks this morning before she left for work. i'm scared...
all i wanted was a little walkie by myself... i slipped out of the gate while Jiejie was getting out of the house. i had to stop by n say hi to our neighbour first, but they were out.
Jiejie called me back into the house, it started as a coaxing tone, but it got louder gradually. but my ears seemed blocked (maybe it was the water from the shower last nite), i couldn't hear her. i made my way down the stairs, n to the lift lobby. i knew i know the way! i tried to be friendly with an old hooman lady at the lift lobby, but she wasn't amused. then i saw Jiejie coming after me, i ran back to her n tried to tell her about my encounter with the old hooman lady. she grabbed me n gave me an earful! i tried my bestest to look guilty... not succeeding... i got the jail treatment, plus the killer looks, n a parting shot dat she needs to enrol me in obedience classes. erm... obedience classes? what's dat? is it any fun?
what can i do now to make Jiejie stop giving me the killer looks? they're scawie...

Another Spider! Not So Itsy-Bitsy Tho...

Juz after i posted about a spider, i discovered dat 1 of our DWB frens is named Spider! but Spider ain't no itsy-bitsy, she's a rottie!!! the music on Spider's blog had got me bobbing my head (c video below). do drop by Spider's blog and say hi if you haven't!

(EC: Yest was the Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duan Wu Jie in Chinese. It is a custom to eat dumplings (glutinous rice with fillings like pork, roasted chestnut, salted egg yoke, etc.) u may like to read more about this Chinese festival here.)

Jiejie had this funny-shaped thing (EC: dumpling) for dinner. ok, a dumbling. altho it looked weird, it smelt yummy! hmmm... will Jiejie become a dumbo after eating the dumbling? but of cos all i could do was juz to smell it, no way Jiejie would give me a bite of dat, not even a teeny-weeny bite. Sigh...

so what's the next best thing to do after a good sniff? i tried to steal the leaves used to wrap the funny looking thing. oops! caught red-handed! argh!!!

Itsy-Bitsy Spider

after Jiejie was done with her morning routine of wiping me up after my breakfast, i heard her went "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkk!!!!" wasssupppppp??????? then she whipped out her camera-phone n started snapping at mid-air. had Jiejie gone bonkers??? if she's dat desperate to take pix, i could be her model (tho in exchange for treats would be better!). then she started whining to Gorgor, "eeeeeeeeeekkk.... you see, you see!" of cos, Gorgor being the Man of the House, had to be the knight in shining armour, grabbed a piece of tissue and removed whatever's in the air. i dunno what caused Jiejie to freak out, it's probably nothing...
(EC: i saw the spidey hanging down in midair, freaked out a little, but went upclose to take a look. geez! the bugger had a victim nicely wrapped in its web. of cos, pest control had to carried out by the Man of the House.)

ok ok... this blog should be about ME, rite?
no good news from the vet's... the bad bad mites have not been exterminated! the doc. had to up my dosage of medication, n to continue to build up my immunity. if it means more cheese cubes, i guess i'm ok with the pills. the pills r supposed to cause drowsiness... Jiejie said it means i'll get sleepy easily... *yawn* i think it's taking effect oredi... i think i'll *yawn* sign out for now...

As Ume and Toby correctly guessed, it is the outer frame of a pair of beach sandals! Bella's guess was v creative tho! maybe something like dat shld be invented for the hoomans!

the beach sandals r v pwetty! The Little Mermaid is Jiejie's fav. Disney character! she couldnt resist getting them when she spotted them. she now wears these when she brings me to the beach. maybe she secretly yearns to be a mermaid???
but let me tell u a little secret! juz between u doggies n me... Jiejie can't swim to save her own life! n she dumps me into the water everytime we go to the beach! hmmmph!!!

n below r the actual beach sandals! Jiejie keeps them outside the house, so dat i'm unable to sink my teethies into dat little crab!

Jiejie forgot to take a picture of the beach sandals while they were still intact with the frame before giving it to me. but if u try to visualise, the sandals n frame would make a complete picture! cool huh?

Jiejie said there were many designs of the other Disney characters. but she bot 1 pair cos she has oni 1 pair of feet. we doggies can have 2 pairs!!! kekeke...

I Adopted A Bean!

Here's my new pet, Bean Bean.

i adopted him from Mr Bean, a local franchise dat sells food & beverages made from soya bean.

Mr Bean organised a charity campaign for Bean Bean and his many siblings to be adopted at S$3 each, and 50% of the sales proceeds will go towards the New Building Fund for the first autism-focused school in Singapore to provide a special blend of mainstream academics and life skills to hooman children with autism.

Pathlight School provides the best of both mainstream and special education. Many hooman children and youths with autism will receive a strong education and employment foundations to become more independent when they leave school.

The total required construction fee for non-standard key facilities for the new building is S$6.7 million. There is still a short-fall of S$3.7 million. Your donation will definitely help to reduce the fund shortage and make a big difference.

Therefore, may i appeal to all of my DWB frens in Singapore to get your hoomans to adopt a sibling or siblings of Bean Bean, to help contribute to the New Building Fund!

Haven't been dlogging for sometime... cos i was sick...
the Maid found a bald patch on the left side of my face a week back, n showed it to Jiejie. Jiejie swore it oni appeared overnight, n immed put on the ugly e-collar on me.

C my sad face?

Jiejie immediately brought me to my usual vet. he scanned me with this light thingy (EC: a Woods Lamp), n claimed dat i was having ringworm. he showed Jie the white spots on the bald patch, n since it's a circular bald patch, it's probably ringworm. hmmm... circular = ring = ringworm?

the vet insisted dat the bald patch didnt appear overnight, more likely, my hair didnt grow due to the ringworm. hey doctor, my Jiejie sees me everyday... u think she wouldn't notice dat bald patch if it had been there all this time???

he wanted Jie to leave me at the clinic for 7 days to undergo treatment. he said they wld shave me down again n scrub my skin very hard with medication to get rid of the ringworm. n once my skin bleeds, it means the ringworm r removed. Jie was horrified! i dun wanna stay in the clinic!!! n i climbed into Jie's arms.

he then gave me a jab to ease the itch, n asked Jie to consider his request to ward me at the clinic. Jie tot long n hard... she was v worried, n i saw her crying while hugging me.

finally, she decided dat she cldnt bear to leave me at the clinic alone, n decided to bring me to another vet.

Jie brot me to another vet the next day... this clinic is nearer to home.

n the vet was a lady doctor... she was specific in her questions n gave detailed explanations on the steps to cure my skin problems.

n the lady vet said my bald patch is more likely to be hot spot than ringworm; n may be caused by trauma due to my other skin infections. hmmm... trauma?

she oso did a skin scrape test for me... n Jiejie looked thru this funny-looking machine, n she saw creatures resembling baby coachroaches. what??? there're coachroaches on my skin??? cruuuuusssh them!!! (EC: i was showed the mites residing on her skin under the microscope, n they do resemble nymphs)

i was given oral medication & a powder-form supplement dats supposed to boost my immunity.

at least 1 good thing came out of this! Jiejie decided to introduce home-cooked food (HCF) into my diet. she tried feeding me fish, carrots n rice, but i finished the fish n carrots, n left the rice untouched. then she decided to mix the fish & carrots with Addiction wet food, n i gobbled up everythg!

n Jie discovered dat i luv carrots, cos i oways pick out the carrots 1st. hmmm... maybe i was a bunny in my previous life?

kekekeke... but after a few meals of semi-HCF, i started to pick out only the HCF. i'm no longer the chin-chye eater i used to be. n Jie glares at me during every meal when i'm picking out only HCF, n leaving only the Addiction. this drives her crazy, cos she mixes my medication into the Addiction wet food. sorwee Jie, u have to try harder from now on...

she's not giving it to me yet, but i noe she hid it in the hall cabinet.
she gave me the bright green rubber thingy tho. she said it's a Dinocuz! juz wondering... where did the head go? Jie, did u hide the head together with the donut? c'mon, 'fess up!

My First Grooming!

wahhhhh! Jiejie woke up soooo early on a Sunday morning! wonder what's the big occasion? the moment she stepped out of her room, she started to fill up my water-bottle. dat could oni mean 1 thing! we're going gai-gai! WOOHOOOOOO!!!
i started to prance around her legs as she went abt to pack. i was so excited! couldn't wait to get out of the house!

finally, we're there! the familiar scent of the sand... n other doggies! n oh no... the water!
i sat on the bench patiently, as Jie slowly smathered herself with sunblock. she got sunburnt during the last trip! kekekeke....

alas! she's done! i could go for my walkie... BUT! BUT! she pulled me to the water instead! argh!
ok... to make her happy, i decided to test water, literally. i took a few steps into the water... Jie was v happy to c me walking into the water voluntarily. but a few steps were all i was willing to risk for, no more!

then came along 2 GR jiejies... they happily went into the water n swam. i wanna play with them too! n i jumped into water without thinking! n shucks! realised too late dat i was in the water! i quickly paddled back to shore. n silly Jie tot dat i'm finally getting the hang of swimming. sorwee Jie, it's not gonna happen anytime soon... but Jie was evil as usual, kept grabbing me n putting me back into the water!

sorweee folks... again, there ain't gonna be any pix, n u noe who's to be blamed for dat.
it's a pity, cos the 2 GR jiejies were v pwetty! esp when they swam together.
there was oso a surfer JRT. she went onto a surfer board n swam with her owner! how cool is dat?

after an hr or so... Jie dried me with dat pwetty towel of hers. cos u noe y? my sotong Jie forgot to pack in MY towel!

i tot we're going home... but Gorgor dropped us off at an unfamiliar place. hmmm... wassup???

then one of their hoomans carried me up n put me into a big tub. ok... this felt familiar, i dun think i would like this thg called grooming...

argh! this hooman, Constance Jiejie, gave me a shower n blow-dried me. not only dat, she cut my nails n was doing something to my hair at my *ahem* privates with this weird-looking thg. (EC: Constance was trimming her hair around her privates) Constance Jie asked me y was i so tensed? er... think if u have someone messing about your privates, u would be tensed too! (EC: Ume, dun be rude!)
but for dat pwetty bandana u gave me, i'll overlook what u did, Constance Jiejie.

Kuku Jiejie did it again!
smtimes, i weeli dunno wat to say abt this hooman...

last sunday, Jie & Gor brot moi to tis place where there're many many dogs. (EC: the SKC 158th/159th Championship Dog Shows held at the Expo Hall 3A)
i met so many new frens there... esp a certain bull terrier. we kept bumping into each other thru'out our stay there... i think he liked n was stalking moi!

n y aint there any pix? ask my kuku Jiejie! as usu, she forgot to take any! Geez! (EC: yes yes... it's my fault. i made up by giving u dat greenie door gift from the show, didnt i?)

Lazy Sunday

Another 1st over the last weekend!

Jie and Gor brought moi to Bishan Park Dog Run last Sat evening!

we were there at around 6pm, n stayed for abt an hour. as it was my virgin trip, Jie dared not let me off the leash. (EC: she's over-hyper, so i wanted to socialise her slowly)

it rained in the afternoon, so it was a little wet n muddy in the dog run. n perhaps so, there weren't many other dogs there. i could count with juz my 2 front paws...1 beagle n 1 shihtzu came running over... i wanted to play with them, but as i was much smaller, i ended up rubbing on the mud instead. Jie picked me up to untangle me from the leash. both the beagle n ST were so excited, they kept jumping up to reach for moi. the beagle could jump so high! i can jump high high too! i can almost reach the tabletop of the kitchen cabinet!the moment Jie put me down, both of them fought to come near me! as the beagle was bigger in size, he easily nudged the ST out of the way. the ST refused to take it down, n proceeded to hump the beagle! kekekeke.... but the beagle was too engrossed playing with me, n didnt give a damn to the ST. both Jie n Gor were bz laughing at the ST, n Gor forgot to whip out the camera n capture these comical moments.

gradually, the other dogs left, n Jie allowed me to go off-leash.but soon... other dogs started arriving, n they were all bigger in size! even the maltese was bigger than moi! Jie immed leashed me again... :( (EC: i wasnt afraid dat the bigger dogs would attack her, but she's simply too hyper being a very young dog, she needs to learn her manners 1st)

dunno was it cos of the run on sat, i was dogged tired (no pun intended!) on sun. i wasn't as active as i usu am, Jie said i've a sharp butt, tho' i dunno y she said dat cos i'm pawty sure dat it's round. (EC: sharp cos u can nvr sit still)

My 1st trip to the beach!!!
Jie told me it's the Tanjong Beach at Sentosa. she said it's where most of the doggies hang out.
much as i like the sun n the sand (lotsa digging to do, n i poo-ed for the 1st time on the sand! ), moi doesnt like the water!
but meanie Jiejie grabbed me n put me into the water again n again! she wanted me to learn how to swim. the moment she released me into the water, i would peddle back to shore with all my terrier might. but b4 i could escape from Jie's evil clutches, she grabbed me back into the water. BAD BAD Jiejie!!!

(EC: She was totally unafraid of the bigger dogs. she chased after the black lab, whereas i was worried dat the black lab would trample on her accidentally.)

Jiejie reali pampered me over the weekend. She gave me something new for my breakfast n dinner.

it says "Merrick" on the can, n it was so yummy! chunks n chunks of meat. *drools*

but Jie said it's expensive... 1 can of Merrick can get me 3 cans of cesar. so she would only give me Merrick during weekends. n she would let me try different flavours over the coming weeks.

i had French Country Cafe this time

Jie read from the local doggie forums dat taking supplements like salmon oil n flax seed oil on alternate days would help to improve my skin.

but she said moi smells fishy (is it? y i dun smell it?) after dat, so she wipes me with wet tissue after each meal with the salmon oil.

wuahaha... Jie oso gave me this on Sat! i conquered it within 30mins!

it's also near to our home... it's oso the 1st time Gor n Jie went to the park, so it took Gor a while to find the place.

it's not as big as punggol park, just a quiet park with a playground.

Last nite, after Jie was back from her dinner, she put me into the playpen set up beside the washing machine. then she put my bed into the playpen as well... hmmm... what was she trying to do?

i tot it was temporary while she cleaned up my pee on the floor *sheepish grinz*

then she proceeded to dismantle the cage with the Maid's help! huh???!!! hey! dats my sleeping area! what r u hoomans doing?

after she's done, she sat down beside the playpen n told me to "shi shi" on the newspapers she had placed inside the playpen, rite beside my bed. ok... "shi-shi" on the newspapers... i did dat. "can i come out of the playpen now, Jiejie?" she's still not letting me out, but went on to remove the soiled newspapers.

i watched her as she switched off the kitchen lights, n said "nite nite, go to sleep". huh?... sleep here? what abt the cage? Jie walked into her own room... duh... at least i've my bed with me. wat a weird feeling! sleeping in a new area... m i gonna be stuck in here? what do i do to get out? hmmm... maybe i should try to squeeze my way out when Jie opens the playpen to remove the newspapers i "shi-shi" on. yup! dats wat i'm gonna do tomorrow morning. *yawn* as for now, it's zzz time... nite nite!

C what my gd Jiejie did? she put me on the e-collar! %*F#@(!%^& (EC: It's reali for your own good... your scalp were sore n bloody from scratching)

HMMMP! so angwee with her! grrrrr.... i kept banging into the kitchen cabinets with the e-collar on...

Jie asked Uncle Marc, the inhouse groomer at the vet's, to put on the e-collar for me after my review. i put up a gd fight! oh yes, i did! a terrier nvr give up w/o a gd fight for her freedom. even Uncle Marc commented dat i'm a smart ger!

the vet said dat my fungal infection is healing, if not, my fur wldnt be growing. he even complimented dat i'm beautiful *girlish giggles* (EC: *Slapped forehead* piangz! he said dat to coax u into having the jab. pleeeeeese!)

grrrr... damned the needle!

but he kept saying dat my skin is dry... n i mite be having a mites problem. huh??? wats dat? can i eat them? he prescribed more medication for me, n to review in 20 days. n oso, Jie need not bathe me every other day, dats too much! no wonder my skin is so dry... n i'm running a slight fever too. c Jie, it's all your fault! i tried to tell u so by scrambling out of the tub whenever u put me in, but u nvr geddit! silly hooman!

gotta log-off now... need to try to get this silly-looking thingy off!

Adventure Around AMK Ave 6

Jiejie n Gorgor went out for lunch w/o me! hmmmp!
she came back at ard 4pm n sat down with me at the balcony n told me abt the little adventure she had in AMK.

She n Gor were on the way to the brand new AMK Hub for lunch n a spot of shopping. whilst making a U-turn at the junction of ave 6, there was a little commotion with the cars ahead. cars were slowing down n honking. hmmm? wassup? there was actuali a pomeranian running loose on the road! WHAT??? what was it doing on the road? where's the owner? it's so scary! i'm afraid of cars... they're big mean looking creatures. the pom gorgor muz hv been so frightened.

Jie was so worried abt the pom, dat she asked Gor to stop the car immed so dat she cld run after the pom to bring it to safety. the pom was running all around the junction... there were several heart-stopping moments when the pom gorgor were running within 1m in front of moving vehicles.

Jiejie being the lazy hooman she is, doesnt exercise. chasing after the pom is the oni run she had in many yrs. she had to huff & puff after the pom... till a family of kind souls offered Jie a lift to chase the pom. after a close to 20 mins run ard the junction n the nearby void decks, the pom gorgor finally slowed down at the bus-stop. he muz hv been tired... or maybe juz curious y a mad woman was chasing after him. he turned ard n sized Jie up. Jie was totally out of breath...
Jie saw her chance to grab the pom... she squatted down n opened her arms to the pom n pleaded with the pom to come to her. the pom took a few steps n hesitated... then a kind uncle helped to attract the pom's attention with a cup of treats. the pom finally walked to Jie, n Jie managed to scoop him up.

Jie found a tag on the pom's collar, n realised dat his name is Lucky. thankfully, Lucky gorgor's home address was oso engraved on the tag. he stays juz opp the bus-stop. Jie immed called his hooman to let them noe she had found him. she met his hooman at her blk lift lobby n passed Lucky gorgor back to her. Jie n Gor were relieved dat Lucky gorgor has a tag, so dat they easily found his owner n return him. Jie told me she would do one for me too, but not dat i would have any chance of running loose like dat.

Jie is still recuperating from her little adventure... chey! lousy hooman! dats for not exercising. BUT! i'm reali proud of my Jie... she made the effort to make sure Lucky gorgor was out of danger from the big mean creatures, n returned him to his hooman. but hor... seems like the hooman has a habit of letting Lucky gorgor run loose on his own. cos when Jie called his hooman, the hooman sounded surprised dat Lucky gorgor was missing n out running alone on the roads. Jie said dats v irresponsible of the hooman. regardless of how well-trained Lucky gorgor is, he shouldnt be left to run loose on his own. m'er, their house is just by the main roads. what if this incident happens again? will there be another kind soul to bring Lucky gorgor back to his hooman? tee gong po pi po pi Lucky gorgor...

did i hear smthg? the recuperating hooman said smthg abt gai-gai? woohoo! where's my leash? where's my leash? yippee! Jie said wanna bring me for a walk at punggol park, while Gor jogs. alas! God had answered my prayers. gotta psycho Jie to bring along her digicam, n take some pix of me! my 1st trip to punggol park!

Identity Crisis

m i really a yorkie? the pet shop said so...

but Jiejie is doubtful... she thinks i look every bit like a silky. after browsing Silky N' Frenz forum, she's all the more convinced dat i'm a silky.

the groomer at the vet's exclaimed when he saw me, "oh! a silky!" *roll eyes* (n why was i at the vet's, i'll elaborate shortly)

duhhhh... does it matter? yorkie or silky, i'm sure she luvs me all the same.

oh yes! the vet story...

when Jiejie bought me, she noticed dat i was shedding n flaking. the seller said it's just dry skin, would be healed with medicated shampoo. but Jiejie noticed bumps all over my body, n some of them looked like pimples with pus. so off to the vet i go!

i was diagnosed with chronic fungal infection, n suspected scabies. the vet warned dat my condition may be hereditary, n gave me a course of medication n to return for review in 4 weeks (which is this weekend) .

Jiejie asked the inhouse groomer to shave me totally, so dat the bumps would heal faster. when the groomer showed her the bumps on my back, Jiejie was so sad dat she cried at the clinic. Jiejie, don't be sad... despite the nasty bumps, i'm still as hyper n adorable. i would be a good ger n take my medicine. here's how i look when i was shaved. no more out-of-place face hair...

Jiejie showed me the dog blogs of other gorgors n jiejies, n allowed me to learn typing on her lappie. i'm a right-pawder... *ump* most definitely!

Let me intro myself...
Jiejie (aka EC) was scouting for a yorkie in Feb when Gorgor agreed to having a pup in the house. why a yorkie? she had wanted a furkid which would look just like her 1st doggie, Tutu... Jiejie said she was a dachshund x terrier (wonder what she looked like?) . Jie said a terrier face with a dachshund body. *huh?* i'm a terrier... but erm... the body? ok, Jie agreed to dig out photos of Tutu n show me. perhaps, i can post here too.

so Jie decided dat a yorkie bears the closest resemblance to Tutu jiejie. she went to pet safari @ vivo city n east point, n several pet farms along pasir ris farmway; she also prodded thru the adoption threads in doggie forums, but failed to find The One! n on Feb 11th, Jiejie flipped the Sunday Classifieds n spotted a tiny advert on a 5 mth old blue/tan female yorkie for sale. she got excited n called the advertiser immediately, n arranged to view the yorkie pup on the same day. n dat was the day i went home with Jiejie...

i wasnt exactly on my best behaviour when she saw me. i was totally hyper, tugging on my leash, picking n chewing leaves n twigs whenever i could. so i was mystified as to why Jiejie wanted me... (EC: she looks exactly like Tutu, k... 90% resemblance with face hair sticking out all over the place. in short - messy!) no, dats my style! i think i'm cute!
